Idea 1. The only way of winning in a discussion is avoiding it. Don´t try to demonstrate that the other person is wrong. Do you have to please him with that? If you discuss, fights and contradicts, can achieve sometimes a victory; but it will be an empty victory, because it will never obtain the good will of the opponent.
Think, then, about this: What does he prefer to have: an academic, theatrical victory, or the good will of a man? There mustn’t lose time in personal discussions. To prevent a disagreement from transforming in a discussion: Accept the disagreement (When two associates always agree, one of them isn’t necessary…).; Perhaps this disagreement it is an opportunity to be corrected before committing a serious error. Distrust on your first instinctive impression. Control your character.
First listen, allow to your opponent the opportunity to speak, allow him to end. Look for the agreement areas, exhibit first of all the points and areas in which you agree. Be honest; look for the points where you can admit and error, apologize for these errors, which will disarm your opponents and will reduce the defensive attitude.
Promise to think and analyze carefully the ideas of your opponents; and do it seriously, his opponents can be right. When two persons shout, there is no communication, only noise and bad vibrations.

Interesting, isn´t it?

Our daily lives are changing at a faster pace than ever before in history.  Rapid advances in technology, instantaneous communication, and globalization of commerce have radically altered our lives. 

Perhaps nowhere is this more obvious than in the work place.  And while many of these changes have been positive, shifts in long-held beliefs about careers, job location and job content have led to a significant increase in workplace stress. 

Employers are only now realizing the high cost of stress and uncertainty on employees — and the company bottom line.  Since the rate of change is not likely to slow down in the near future, as a Manager we must find effective tools for managing de change in our workplace.

While the causes – and the tools – are numerous, there are a few basic concepts that every manager can utilize to reduce the negative impact of change on staff morale and productivity.

Daniel Goleman has identified the five components of this topic. This is very interesting and I believe this is really important in order to improve our performance as managers.

1.- Knowledge about yourself.
This is the capacity of identify and understand our own emotions: which are our weak or strong points, our needs, motivations, values and objectives. This characteristic is evident in trust of yourself, and your capacity of self-criticism.

A resume is like an advertisement promoting you, the job seeker. An ad placed in a crowded magazine or newspaper with similar ads has to attract attention, be easy to read and comprehend, and be full of benefits. Otherwise, the reader will pass right over it and not even see it.

A good resume will generate a positive response and move your job search into high gear. But there are additional self-marketing tips you must follow:

  • Your resume must “Get an Interview”

The primary goal of a resume is to get an interview, which is an “order” for a preview of your product – YOU. Unfortunately, many resumes are versions of the one-page, standard reverse-chronological line-up that tells employers and recruiters very little about the person, and usually more about job duties and responsibilities. Personal branding, that combination of unique strengths, characteristics, and experience most relevant to the career goal and target audience, is rarely conveyed on the page.
